Much has been said about the new face of life evident in Akwa Ibom Property and Investments Company (APICO) under the watch of an indefatigable Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Barr. Patrick Udomfang.
This is undeniable as the Akwa Ibom Property and Investments Company, which was almost moribund after its establishment for about fifteen years, yearning for a touch of revival, efficiency and productivity, has been given a new face of life through the MD/CEO, Barr. Udomfang, who on resumption of office embarked on wholistic renovations and rehabilitation of machines and tools like generating sets, lift, vehicles, as well as introduction of emblem to advertise and project the image of the company and the painting of the APICO Investment House building.
During a recent visit by newsmen to the company based on the development, and to inquire about the introduction of emblem and other issues; the MD/CEO told journalists that on resumption, he discovered there was no drive for positive change since the company was established for about fifteen years now, that it was necessary for the state own company to take the lead by introducing policies, ideas and innovations that will promote, build and project the state own company above private companies.
He said the introduction of emblem to be pasted on cars and other places was necessary to help disseminate information and create awareness about APICO in the state and even beyond; This he said, will go a long way to educate Akwa Ibomites and Nigerians about the existence of the company.
Barr. Udomfang went further saying; he has put all machineries in place to ensure efficient and effective service delivery which is in line with Governor Udom Emmanuel’s policy and was ready to ensure the actualization of the present administration’s completion agenda in his administration as MD/CEO of APICO.
Explaining further, the MD/CEO stated that; he met the company at a state where vehicles, generating sets, lift and other facilities were completely down but as of today, all the facilities have been made functional and thanked God for working under a listening governor who always demonstrates a high level of sensitivity on the plight of the people.
Barr. Udomfang who said he will leave no stone unturned to ensure that he flies the state owned company and take it to a greater height, maintained that within the shortest time, all his good plans and programmes for the company will be unveiled.
In their separate speeches, members of staff of Akwa Ibom Property and Investments Company (APICO) thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for appointing a level headed man and a technocrat who has the interest of the company and the state at heart as MD/CEO.
They said since Udomfang resumed duty as the MD/CEO of APICO, he has been able to change the poor working condition of the company by creating an enabling environment for zeal, hard work and diligence to thrive.
APICO staff expressed optimism that their Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer with his wealth of experience gathered over the years in public office, will drive the company and the state government’s mission and vision to perfection as he will continue to create positive impact in the company and welfare of staff.
They thanked Barr. Udomfang for deeming it fit to give the company a new face of life and flying the company’s emblem for the first time in the history of the company.
They described the emblem as the image builder of the state owned company and Akwa Ibom as a whole which in turn stands as a selling point of the company.
