“Invited guests here present, Members of the press, Film makers/actors, Distinguished ladies and gentlemen.
I welcome you to this third edition of Kaduna International film festival press conference.
Over the years, the film/movie industry have continued to grow, with more individuals and institutions willing to commit time, talent and finance and an ever increasing audience yearning for entertainment through this sector.

The importance of a film festival cannot be overemphasized. It is a vital link in the chain of global film culture. It has been seen that Cinema is the most democratic art with various channels through which it can be assessed. Film festivals therefore can consolidate and maintain peace and development in the film industry and by implication, the soceity in general. The film making task is enormous and the market, very large. Film makers therefore need to harmonise resources (skills, experience and finance) for better films and sustainable content to meet demand. Hence, the theme for this year’s Kaduna International Film Festival(KADIFF): ” Harmonisation, Peace development and Content Sustainability”.

This is crucial and very important to our entertainment industry in particular and the society at large. Peace and harmony can bring peaceful and stable order to the society, they are also a necessary condition for the survival of mankind. Definition of Term’s; “HARMONIZATION ” This is a demonstration or procedure of creating a satisfying visual mix. It is likewise the way toward limiting excess or clashing principles which may have developed freely. The objective is to discover shared characteristics, personality basic prerequisites that should be held and give a typical standard to.

You’ll concur with me that Peace Development is a compound word, where harmony is an idea of cultural companionship and agreement without threatening vibe and viciousness. While Development is a procedure that makes development, progress, and positive changes e.t.c in the general public. Be that as it may, harmony advancement is a procedure by which the cultural kinship and concordance without threatening vibe and viciousness are improved by focused objectives and destinations.
Discussing Content Sustainability; Content is a condition of fulfillment while Sustainability is the capacity to exist continually. It is commonly the limit concerning the biosphere and human progress to coincide. It is the procedure of individuals keeping up change in a homeostasis adjusted condition in which the misuse of assets, the course of ventures, the direction of mechanical advancement and institutional changes are all in amicability and improves both present and future possibilities to address human issues and desires. It is worthy to note that the movie industry is a key tool for entertainment almost everybody has this basic and essential need of getting entertained and is suitable for relaxation during leisure time. The unity of Nigeria is paramount and an issue of national importance, producing movies that touch on Nigerians cultural heritage and socio-cultural issues that affect us in different spheres is very important.

This is because Such movies relate to our day to day relationship showing the good and ill side of the society and how we can better harness these relationships for the betterment of the nation. And with such movies, we can address the security challenges bedeviling this country through the stories and framing pattern.
Furthermore, it is high time we engage in producing movies that transcend the cultural heritage of our people by showing our historical origin to this generation and documenting them for generations yet unborn. Also, they will serve as a means of preserving history, because it is said that if you don’t know where you are coming from you would not know where you are going to. For example, the film shows the history, culture, and diversity of Nigeria.
