The Executive Chairman of Uyo Capital City Development Authority, Otuekong Enobong Uwah led the Management and Staff of the Uyo Capital City Development Authority to God in a one-day solemn Assembly at the office complex on Esuene Street, Uyo.
Addressing the gathering, Otuekong Uwah posited that the solemn assembly was convened to commit the affairs of the Authority, Staff, the state and nation to God and to seek for His direction throughout the year.
Otuekong Uwah who was represented by the Board member, Mr. Peters Effiong Peters, charged the staff to be considerate towards one another.
In a sermon by the State Pastor of Winners Chapel, Pastor Triumphant Obamoh, who spoke on the theme of the event “Kindness in Service”, said kindness is a process of being firm, generous, considerate and a personal touch of care and concern to one another.
Pastor Obamoh urged the Management and staff of UCCDA to portray civility in treating their clients with kindness in order to make the system healthier and profit oriented.
Souvenirs were presented to the retirees, Mr. Emah Uboh and Mr. John Patrick Udo, including the serving staff of the Agency who distinguished themselves in the course of their duty. Children from Friends of the needy organization, from Eket senatorial district, the Lutheran children home, Ikot Ntien Nsit, Uyo senatorial district and Government children home, Ikot Akpan Ntuk in Ikot Ekpene senatorial district went home with food items.
The Batch ‘A’ Corps members also made presentation of gift items to the Authority
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries, the Secretary and Head of Administration, Mr. Anietie Marcus Akpan, said celebrating the retirees was a way of thanking them for the years they have put in serving the state.
Mr. Akpan urged other MDAs to deem it fit to celebrate those who have contributed their quota to the effective and efficient service delivery during and after retirement.
Receiving the gifts, the retired Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Ema Uboh expressed gratitude to the Management and Staff of the UCCDA for recognizing them.
