2023 Guber: Udom Inoyo Has Better Capacity to Lead A’Ibom than Others – Retired ExxonMobil Staff

As Akwa Ibom State people continue to pray for a worthy successor of Governor Udom Emmanuel in 2023, a top retired staff of ExxonMobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited, Mr Malachy Umoren has stressed that Mr Udom Inoyo will make a better Governor than other aspirants who might join the race in the election.
According to Umoren who fielded questions from newsmen in an interactive session at his residence said, “He can make a good Governor if he wants to vie for that privilege of service. If he says he will serve his people after retiring from his service at ExxonMobil, then I will gladly carry my two hands for him.”
The retired ExxonMobil staff who worked as a Controller in the Accounting department and hails from Ikot Ekpene local government area revealed that Inoyo possesses sterling leadership qualities and experience to lead Akwa Ibom people in the hilltop mansion.
Umoren noted that it will be a thing of pride and blessing to have Inoyo with his over two decades of leadership experience saddle the seat of power of Akwa Ibom, he maintained that for the years he served in the oil company, he’s discovered Inoyo on a personal grounds to be passionate about Akwa Ibom welfare and development.
His words, “When it comes to 2023, I would personally like Udom Inoyo to be our governor. You know why? He is grounded. When you talk about leadership, he has spent two decades in the leadership cadre of a multi national.
“This is an organization that has grown greatly. Do you know what we will benefit through his capacity? If you have someone sit in the leadership level of such organization for two decades, know that he has learnt and has acquired so much knowledge and capacity to lead.
“That is not the kind of person you will want to miss. Akwa Ibom State is a growing State. We need someone with that kind of capacity. Someone who has experience from the corporate world.”
He pointed out that Inoyo is well grounded, experienced and has a strong rapport with Akwa Ibom people which according to him is the reason for his huge investment in education through the Inoyo Toro Foundation.
He wondered why some persons in the state would try to launder Inoyo‘s image as one who has done less or nothing for Akwa Ibom people particularly indigent workers of ExxonMobil which he serves as Vice Chairman; Umoren spoke in strong terms that Inoyo has achieved laudable feats which are not recorded in the media space and has made tremendous self-sacrifices by being a factor to the balance of employment of Akwa Ibom people in the oil empire.
The retired ExxonMobil staff who worked for 18 years in the oil empire before resigning while baring his mind on the rumours making the rounds that Inoyo was not well rooted with the people at the local level explained that aside Governor Udom Emmanuel, Inoyo has daily interface with representatives of communities, traditional rulers and multi-national corporations which has afforded him with the knowledge and prowess to address the numerous problems still plaguing the state.
Clearing the air on the alleged Lekki estate owned by Mr Inoyo (Inoyo Haven Estate) in Lagos instead of constructing such edifice in Akwa Ibom State, Umoren disclosed that such information was wrong and misleading and that people spreading the lies should seek clarification on the matter from appropriate quarters. Umoren revealed that the Inoyo Haven Estate is a private investment property owned and financed by employees of the oil company in Nigeria through Employee’s Corporation Finds and not an investment of Inoyo‘s as reported in the media.
He added that the organization having realized the huge sacrifice done them by Inoyo in helping them recover massive debts which would have caused a serious wreck to the Corporation decided to honour him by naming the estate after him.
“The cooperative acquired land somewhere within the Lekki corridors in Lagos to build houses. He was helpful to the cooperative.
“The cooperative is an independent organization which cannot mix business with the corporation. Inoyo was very helpful to the cooperative. There was a time we had challenges recovering debt within the cooperative. When a lot of people couldn’t recover and there was no avenue to pay their money upfront, the cooperative approached Inoyo and solicited his assistance to recover the loans.
“It is not what the company would like to do, but Udom Inoyo intervened and talked to leadership council and secured their approval for upfront deduction. When they pay you money, they deduct to what accrued to the cooperative.
“The cooperative believed that without him, and I believe too that without him we would have lost the money. So they said, let us just name that place in the honour of the person who assisted us to remain afloat. It is not his Estate. I don’t even think he has a plot of land in that Estate.” He added.
