Come back home, lawmaker urges wealthy Ndi Anambra
The lawmaker representing the good people of Awka North at the State House of Assembly, Hon. John Nwokoye, had during today’s plenary, in his usual manner, spoke passionately on a motion that sought above every other an intensified campaign that will stimulate ndi Anambra to relocate portions of their investments down to the State.
The motion itself which had Hon. Dr Pete Ibida as the Chief Sponsor, called on the Executive Governor of Anambra State, Chief (Dr) Willie Obiano to direct the commissioner for information and other related agencies to intensify campaign of stimulating Anambra State indigenes divert their investments to Anambra State, leveraging on the enabling environment.
In supporting the motion, Hon. John Nwokoye who affirmed its importance, stated that Anambra State as it were, with the prevailing enabling environment made possible by Obiano, is ripe and always open for any potential investments, most expecially for ndi Anambra.
As a co-sponsor of the motion, Hon. John Nwokoye outlined the numerous benefits attached to having such great investments here in the state. Which will have to include; an improved and impressive IGR, reduction of unemployment and youth restiveness, etc
Acknowledging the role Gov Willie Obiano played in projecting the Aku Lue Uno philosophy, Onowu Achalla said, “One will be grateful to Governor Willie Obiano for initiating the ‘Aku Luo Nno’ philosophy which has brought tremendous business growth in Anambra.”
“I was opportuned to attend those gathering put together by the Governor in Abuja, Portharcourt and Lagos, where ndi Anambra deliberated on the ‘think home’ philosophy and it must be followed down to the letters”, he enthused.
The firebrand lawmaker who revealed that he has visited over 50 countries across the globe, observed that Igbos, in a larger proportion are doing well and therefore must be persuaded to bring home their huge investments.
While stating that Anambra State is the safest state in Nigeria, Hon. John Nwokoye urged the working and listening Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, to through all relevant agencies, continue the sensitisation of ndi Anambra business owners out the State, to imbibe the Aku Lue Uno philosophy.
For his Constituency, Awka North, More Money stated that his strong support for the motion, was the deepest understanding that his Constituents will benefit from the influx of indigenous investments.
After taking submissions from other lawmakers, the Speaker, Rt Hon. Episeni Uche Victor Okafor, with a resounding yes from the Lawmakers, resolved that Gov. Willie Obiano direct the Commissioner of Information and other related agencies to intensify campaign on stimulating Anambra State Indigenes to divert their investments to Anambra State.
